If pasta is served at a specific venue, whether it be a church or at a public gathering, you’ll get some people that say, “Hey, I don’t like my pasta. I don’t like the spaghetti. I want, I don’t know, the penne.” Or you’ll get somebody that says, “I don’t want white pasta. I want whole wheat.” You get all these different versions of pasta from different people.

Most people are not grateful for the fact that they even have food. They’re more critical about the fact that the food is maybe unhealthy or that the food is not to their liking. They want to change the actual menu item, even though they’re not in control of the cooking. It’s rude in a sense. Obviously there are some who suffer from allergies but we’re speaking specifically about those who have no reaction. Many times they are just making changes because they believe it is simply their healthy choices that’s keeping them alive and well.

I’m not negating the fact that there are some foods, whether it be cooked or uncooked, that just aren’t good for you. You won’t find anyone who’d be willing to cook Poison Ivy. It’s simply not made for consumption.

Carnivore, Vegetarian, Vegan and even Health Reformer (look it up) none of these are better than the other. When we get down to matters of the heart we need to remember, Jesus said: “Woe to the Pharisees and he called them hypocrites because they were like whitewashed tombs — beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.” (Matthew 23:27) There are so many of us battling against each other and yet we claim to be Christians. When we start judging and determining our righteousness, or our closeness to God, or our differences by the food we eat, something’s wrong. When will we actually take God at his word? The Bible already made it clear it’s God’s Spirit that gives us life (John 6:63). All the works we do profits us nothing.

When we start to eat the words of God, our desires change. The Bible states that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God (Matthew 4:4). The truth and promises found in God’s word changes the minds and hearts of individuals. This doesn’t only apply to what we eat, but also to the way we conduct ourselves. The people we spend our time with, and all the bad habits that keep us down. The Word of GOD builds up the life of Christ that’s in us Colossians 3:3. Finding the right diet starts with the right thoughts and having God’s spirit directing our every move. It’s not the job of a Vegan or Health Reformer to tell us what to eat. It’s the job of Jesus. We must put our total trust in him It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to our bones. (Proverbs 3:8)
