Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. 1 John 2: 6

There are many descriptions in the Bible that describe God’s character, such as loving, merciful, compassionate, and kind. When we make the decision to become a Christian, we are choosing to be Christlike, and we take on the characteristics of Christ in our actions and behaviors. There’s no room for selfishness, meanness, or hardened hearts. It is through God’s grace that He gives us the strength to be like Him. He empowers us! We sometimes forget whom we represent when confronted with an angry spouse, a defiant child, a difficult co-worker, a difficult neighbour someone who cuts us off in traffic, or someone who takes the parking spot we’ve been patiently waiting for! But we need to represent Jesus at all times—not just when it’s convenient. After all, our character is the very essence of who we are. It is something that defines us. We need to ask God to seal His character in our hearts so that even when confronted with the most difficult situation, we will react in such a way that others can see Jesus in us! In other words, let us strive in our hearts to be more like Jesus!
