Knowing God’s Voice

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3: 6

Many people don’t understand how to communicate with God. They pray without even an ounce of faith that God actually hears their prayers. The question has been asked over and over, “How do you know when God is speaking to you?” and the answer is this: the more time you spend in prayer and the study of God’s Word, the more you will recognize the prompting of the Holy Spirit. For instance, when you first meet someone and they call you on the phone, you might not recognize that person’s voice. But after you’ve become friends and called each othercountless times, you only need to hear, “Hello,” and there is instant recognition. So it is with God. The more time you spend with Him, the closer you’ll become and the more you will know His voice. And if you’re still unsure whether it’s God’s voice impressing you—then double the time you spend alone with Him! It’s in those quiet times that you will hear His voice the loudest!
